Tillers

Just wanted to mention how GREAT these tillers work. I custom tilled a few gardens the last couple weeks with the B12 and have had lots of complements!! I loaned it out to a friend and he was tilling up everything he could get his hands on, ended up with a garden twice the size he started with. I'd like to find a store brand that can do half the job of these 30+ year old tractors and attachments!

Last week I tilled a 1/3 acre plot with my 36 inch tiller on the B110. I've had complements on how good it does too. Its great!Just going to have to remember to grease the zirks regularly, maual says every 3 hours of operation. -Chris

I'm still waiting to try out my tiller. The body for my b112 just got back from being sand blasted. Last year I tilled by hand. The dogs tore out the stakes and dug up the garden. This year I hope to make the same claim as yourself.

 • 4 weeks later...
I also discovered how good a 36" tiller works. I've greased the joints on mine, but I can't see if I am putting enough grease into it. I've found two grease points. Any suggestions on how much is enough? When I grease my 69 Camaro steering control arms, when you can see grease coming out you know to stop....

Notice the new addition to the B10, a nice seat from a B12 from Smilin Sams ACs, Thanks Sam^

Garden has been in for a few days now and sure love to use the old wonderboy 700 with tiller on. I installed a plate on the back and it really helps pulverizing the ground,It does make the engine smoke so I guess I will have to break down and get a set of rings for it.Now that the garden is in I am using the old midel V walkbehind I do like it for getting between the rows.Mice sure hate me when I start it up as they have to move out and I am getting good at hitting them with the rope.Bob

I did my neighbors last week, but he forgot to spread out last years leaves. At first it was a mess, but managed to pulverise everything in.

Michael, there are two grease fittings on the top of the hood and one more on each side of the main bearings, those you can grease until it comes out around the shaft, but I dont know how to tell when your done greasing the ones on the top, I just pump several good squirts in. -Chris

Chris, I'm glad you told me about the other two grease points I didn't know about. Thank you, Michael. BTW: I just bought a mint- B112 like your above. Needs a new battery and perhaps a clutch/brake adjustment. It's driving better than my 3012 which needs the BGB rebuilt.

All we got the last few weeks is a lot of rain, can't even drive the tractors on the grass because it is so wet. My Simplicity walking tractor has a 28" roto tiller, just waiting for the mud to dry.:D My Allis Chalmers B-12 tractor has a 30" roto tiller, just waiting for the mud to dry also.:D Karl

How much vibration are you guys getting when you till? Is it a kidney buster, or not really that bad?

With the B-10, it's not that bad, more of a side to side rocking motion. Sure beats using a front tine walk behind :D
