Pow'r Max 9020 Oil Filters

The hydrostatic filter No. is 171439 and sub is Fram PH16. I have used this filter for 20 years and had no problem. The old filter was all orange but the new filters are orange with a black band for easy twist on. I tried two of these new filters and they do not have sufficient flow through and cause the charge pump to make a very loud whine and this can damage your pump if run this way to long. The other symptoms are poor or hard power steering, under heavy pulling load hydro will jerk and three point lift cylinder will be slow and jerk. Part No. 171439 and sub is Napa 51307. This Napa filter which is a Wicks works perfect and all irregular operation will stop. I found all this out the hard way by going through all rubber hoses and replacing them along with the oil. The CO-OP has a very good oil which has been developed especially for hydro transmission assemblies, so when you need to change oil check this supplier out.
