Simplicity 4041 charging system

Hey guys its me again. Just bought a 4041 without engine. I also bought an Onan 16HP to go in it, it runs great. Hey, I'm going to use it, not rebuild it.I think the 16 will do what I need to do. Light mowing and pulling trailer around property. I'll keep my 620 for more fancy work. What I need to know is what I need to do to convert late model charging system to charge battery in 4041. Most all wiring in 4041 is in really bad shape. I just want to charge battery. I don't care if the radio plays or not. Guess I need a schematic of a simple hookup for the 16 to charge the battery. I don't have the regulator for either one. Just not sure how I might hook it up. I don't care if I need to turn on more then one switch to get the thing to run. I'll send you all a pic of the thing when I get it going. By the way the 4041 has been sitting in a barn for 26 years and most sheet metal is in bad shape. Hour meter shows 214 hrs. Hope this is true. Current owner has no idea where the original motor went. The original owner passed some years ago. Got both for $350, may have been a god buy???
