The old Sov is steering a little hard. Can anybody give me some pointers on how to free it up, short of smaller front tires?

Ah yes, Les! I'll bet you that's your problem, the steer shaft bushs!I too like a hydro for snow and a geardrive for mowing.I was telling Dick R. I bought my parents a used 7016 hydro and the thing's been a darn lemon from the git-go!And yes that hard steer. prob. was one of the MANY things wrong with that heap! dlc

I hear ya Dave. My B-112 is still my favorite tractor, although it never did steer real easy. This newer Sov I got sat in a field for several years, which is why I am looking for lube advice, figured while I am lubing I might as well lube up the old B-112 too. I still prefer the old gear drives for mowing, but I like the hydro for snow. I guess I feel like I always want to go too fast when mowing with a hydro. I feel like I am doing a better job of mowing if I go the exact same speed all the time. I worry about lugging the engine too, that comes from being an old truck driver I guess.
