what ads???

Hi everyone, I have seen alot of people having good luck at this. My question is what is the best way to word a want ad to get so many tractors?Any help would be appreciated Thanks Tony

Tony, The first ads I ran said "wanted old garden tractors and equipment". I got a lot of calls on old mtd stuff and 2 or 3 good tractor finds. This year I worded the ad "wanted garden tractors built before 1975". I only got 6 calls but I found a running 2010 simplicity with 3 attachments and hyraulic lift, a b12 allis, a running 1050 bolens,and a running wards squire 10. I got all these tractors for a total of $450.00. I passed on 2 tractors that the guy wanted way to much for. One guy wanted 500.00 for a 1250 bolens with a wrong engine in it and the tranny was out in it, he said "well its an antique you know". I told him its worth as much as someone else is willing to pay for it and that it was out of my price range. It is still kind of up to luck as to what you will find but if you don't try you won't know. I have 16 tractors now, 6 of them that are done, 5 more of these are running but not restored and the rest are waiting. I figured I would try and find as much raw material as I can find and have projects and trading materials for the future. Good luck on placing an ad. Its just about like christmas-- you never know what you are going to get.
