Mag, Magneto, Magnetron, Coils explained

Comments

Thanks so much for the information you provide. It has been a big help to me. Been buying B-Series Allis for about 10 years.  I have a B12 that will not spark. Watched this video three times. Called Briggs and Stratton and gave the the engine number 302431-0117-02-7308231 to see what part number mag to convert it to electronic ignition. They said as long as it is a two bolt mag it would not need the flywheel repolerized. They could not give me a part number  said to check with a local dealer. Do you know if I can do this? I noticed the 243431 parts list brings up two numbers for mags. 298968 before datecode 81080100.  And 398811 after datecode 81073100. I have a 398811 and it will not spark at all.
